Explore the underground wonderland of Britannia Creek Cave Geological Reserve and see the earth from a totally different perspective.

Enter into a subterranean river system and make your way through tight passages and into cool cave chambers. With the help of your experienced guide you’ll scrambling around rocky ledges, squeeze through narrow rock formations, and slide down slick cave walls as you explore different routes. Along the way you’ll learn about the history of the local area, how the cave formed and if you’re lucky you might even spot the shimmer of a glow worm or two.

At the start of the tour your guide will run you through a safety briefing and kit you out with a helmet and head torch. We’d highly recommend hiring a pair of our caving overalls as this activity will have you unleashing your inner earthworm. Your guide will be on hand throughout the activity guiding and assisting you through the adventure. One of the great adventures in caving Victoria has to offer.

Frequently asked questions.

  • What’s the difference between guided and self-guided adventures?

In our guided adventures you’ll have the safety and assurance of a professional adventure guide with you every step of the way. All our guides are trained and accredited outdoor adventure specialists with current Working with Children Check and First Aid Training. On a self-guided adventure we’ll provide transfers and adventure equipment, but you’ll have the freedom to enjoy the activity at your own pace.

  • What happens if it starts raining while I’m out on tour?

If it’s a little light drizzle then we’ll continue with the adventure as planned. However, if the weather turns quickly then we’ll make a judgement call based on how quickly the shower will pass, how strong the rain is, if there is lightning, thunder and strong winds. While some inclement weather is to be expected in nature based adventures, we take your comfort and safety in the outdoors very seriously.

  • Do you provide catering on tour?

We currently provide a unique Silva Coffee Roasters tasting experience available on selected tours. Partnering with Oscars on the Yarra we are now providing a special picnic experience that can be enjoyed at the conclusion of your adventure tour in a lush tranquil setting by the Yarra River. You can choose from a selection of sandwiches, an antipasto platter or 3 cheese picnic boxes. Pair with a bottle of wine or champagne bought separately.

  • What should I wear to go caving?

The cave we operate in is a creek cave and you will be crawling and sliding your way through. We highly recommend hiring a pair of caving overalls to protect you and your clothes from wear and tear. Alternatively, wear a pair of long sleeve pants, long sleeve top and closed toe shoes.

  • What happens if it is raining on the day of my tour booking?

If it’s a little light drizzle we’ll continue with the adventure as planned. However, if it turns to torrential rain with high winds then we’ll work with you to reschedule your tour for another date. While some inclement weather is to be expected in nature based adventures, we take your comfort and safety in the outdoors very seriously.

  • Are your adventures suitable for children?

Yes, most of our adventure activities are suitable for children aged 6 and above. However, please check our age guide listed on our individual adventure products. If you’re unsure which activity is suitable for your child please contact us to discuss your options.
